As a student in Business Professional Writing 320 at NDSU, I am learning essential skills on how to communicate effectively, write clearly, and be more professional in my communication through speaking or writing.
The skills above are able to thrive off of one particular objective this course aims to achieve during the semester. This objective is in the context of developing professionalism. Professionalism includes exhibiting certain qualities that include self-direction, cooperation, civility, reliability, and care in editing and presenting a certain product or service. To successfully achieve this objective or goal, I am able to practice the usefulness of collaborating in workplace teams on various projects throughout the semester, through this English course.
In the future, the development of my professionalism is essential, especially as a business student. It is important for me to maintain professionalism in my future workplace and environment. It is also essential for me to gain these skills of being professional before I even start a career, as being professional during the hiring process is an important thing my future employer would look at. My future position will most likely also give me experience with a team, so the experience I am gaining by achieving this objective through collaboration is essential for me to build my teamwork skills for my future.
Overall, it is essential to gain professionalism for your future career. If you are a college student, I suggest starting to build this professionalism now, as you will want to start making a habit and gain knowledge about it. If you are not a college student, don't worry; it's never too late to become a professional and gain skills needed to show professionalism every single day!
